We have begun our trek east to North Carolina. Our first stop was in Kansas City where we stayed at
Peculiar Park Place RV Park. This was actually a little ways south of Kansas City in a town named "Peculiar". Strange, er peculiar, huh? This was a nice family-owned park that did not have a lot of amenities but was very well maintained. Close to the freeway where there was a Flying-J and a Sonic so we had everything we needed! It was pretty hot and humid while we were there but we did get out to see a little bit of KC.

We ventured downtown one day to the plaza where we had a great BBQ lunch at
Jack Stack. We walked around a bit and then headed home as it was really too hot and humid for us to do very much walking.

| They call Kansas City the city of fountains and there were a lot of them! |

Friday night we braved the almost 100 degree heat and nearly matching humidity to go to a Royals game at
Kauffman Stadium. It was a really nice venue and the Royals fans are great! When they were introducing the players we heard everyone booing for one player. We asked the guy next to us why they booed that guy and he laughed - They aren't booing, they're MOOing! This players name is Moustakis and they call him Moose and whenever he comes up they all start Mooing! It was great fun but the Royals lost to the Astros.
 |
| Parking was WAY out here - see the stadium in the distance - that is Arrowhead Stadium on the right where the Chiefs play football. |
 |
| At least we got seats in the shade! |
 |
| More fountains! |
 |
| Fountains after dark - it didn't really cool off that much after dark either... |
From here we are headed down to Branson. Until then, stay cool and safe travels!
