We stayed at Seaport RV Resort which was just a short drive from the historic seaside village, the aquarium and the seaport museum. We had a great site that afforded us satellite reception and was right across from a nice little dog park.
On Saturday we got a "Mystic Pass" (only $53 for seniors) that allowed us to visit both the aquarium and the seaport museum. Here are some photos:
The Beluga whales were definitely the best part of the aquarium. Beluga is Russian for "white". They are the size of a large dolphin and they look like they are smiling! They train them to do tricks like dolphins as well. Fascinating creatures!
Penguin smooch underwater!
Nemo and friends
This is a training vessel with an all iron hull.
I don't know what was up with this guy...
The Charles Morgan, last of the American Whaling fleet. Launched in 1841, they sailed it again in 2014.
A hearty Captain!
They made a house out of this tugboat.
We also checked out the Historic downtown and drawbridge. What a lovely little village!
We ate lunch at Mystic Pizza. The same one from the movie. It was very quaint and a bit crowded but we got right in at a window seat where we could watch everyone going by on Main Street. The pizza was one of the best I have ever had!
