Pismo Beach CA

We arrived here in Pismo Beach yesterday afternoon.  We are actually in the city of Grover Beach, but only by about 2 blocks.

The drive down here from San Francisco was uneventful and a fairly easy drive.  However, we did realize that we need to refine our method of finding rest stops, etc.  The Garmin searches in all directions so it is hard to tell which ones are really ahead of you on your route.  We used an app on the iPhone called Trucker Path which is OK.  But I know there has to be a better solution.  I used to plan our route using MS Streets & Trips on the computer and then I could just load that route directly onto the Garmin.  It would include all of our stops and it was great!  Now, with the new Garmin it does not allow us to do that.  Seems like a step backwards to me!  All you RVers let me know what you use!

We are staying at Le Sage Riviera RV Park and it the location is great.  The beach is right behind us and we can be there in about 2 minutes.  There is a train track across the street but I didn't hear any trains late at night so no big deal (so far).  Only 30 amp hook up which would be a problem in the summer but we don't need A/C at this time of year.  We looked at Pismo Coast Village but they do not allow Malamutes!  Probably an uninformed insurance company or something like that. Oh  well....

We are very glad to be back on the road.  I guess we are truly Full-Timers when we don't really feel "at home" unless we are moving every few weeks!

We will just be relaxing here at the beach this week, recuperating from a hard work week at the Cow Palace last week.  Of course I am still working my regular job with Ciber but Linda is back to retirement!  At least for a while.

I will post some more pics after we get out and explore the area a little.  For now, here is a snap of our rig in the park and one of the beach which is a short walk right behind the  RV Park.
