We're blogging!

Hello friends and family!

We created this blog to help us update all of you on our travels and to let you all know what we've been up to.  You will be able to see where we are on the map at the top right of the page.  We will try to keep this up to date.  I also hope to add another map that will show our route both planned and already traveled.

We started our great adventure on my birthday, November 5, 2011.  We moved out of our house in Pollock Pines, CA and became official full-timers.  We didn't go far at first as we had lots of things to finish taking care of and all.  So we stayed at the Cal Expo RV Park in Sacramento for a few months.  Many other things came up and we wound up staying until May, 2012.

We flew to Sioux Falls, South Dakota in December (note to self: don't go to SD in December!) and became official residents of that state.  Why not live in a state with no income tax and only a 3% sales tax?

We went to the Alaskan Malamute Specialty in Woodland, California in May so that our granddaughter, Sydney could show our veteran dog.  After that, we were finally "on the road"!  Our route took us to Bakersfield CA, Blythe CA, Tucson AZ, Las Cruces NM, Fort Stockton TX, San Antonio TX, Corpus Christi TX, Austin TX, Greenwood LA, Jackson MS, Birmingham AL, Fair Play SC, Durham NC, Raleigh NC, Milton WV, Wooster OH, Niagara Falls NY, York PA, oak island NC, Flat Rock NC, Chattanooga TN, Nashville TN, Orange Beach AL, Gulf Shores AL, and then finally back to Sacramento in December just in time for Sydney's birthday.

For quite a while now we have been working 2 days a week as camp hosts at Cal Expo RV Park.  Well, I should say that LINDA is working - I just help her out a little bit!  But this little gig allowed us to stay here rent free!  Our plan now is to go "walkabout' again in January after Linda completes her job as vendor chair at the Golden Gate Kennel Club show at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.  More on that excursion later!
